The legendary Key West Paddle Classic has been POSTPONED due to the onset of COVID-19.  It’s NEW RESCHEDULED DATE is October 3rd, 2020.  A perfect time to visit Key West.

Key West Paddle Classic for the WIN:  All Crafts Allowed.

Take on the Key West Paddle Classic challenge of circumnavigating the Island of Key West.  Options to paddle the 12-mile course solo in one of their many various divisions or team up with friends for a three-person SUP relay race around the island!

The race takes place on Saturday, October 3rd, 2020 but the festivities run all weekend. Stay for the Sunday Funday hang out and take a cruise to a secluded island. Sit & paddle off the sand bars to hang out, relax and enjoy a Lazy Dog cookout!

The Key West Paddle Classic is a 12-mile circumnavigation of the island of Key West! Open to all crafts including kayak. Get ready to have some fun!

PLEASE NOTE:  This race is approximately 12 miles in distance. There is a 5-hour time limit to complete the race! Please plan accordingly. All entries are non-refundable, but the fun is guaranteed!

Relay & Team Entries:  PLEASE READ

1. Team Captain/ Person to Register Team:  You will be asked to list your other team members on registration. Team registration to be paid by Captain or 1st person to register.

2. Each team member must register individually & sign waiver to complete team registration.

3. Team members can reimburse their Captain after team registration. ALL remaining team members  REGISTER HERE (no additional charge) to receive tee shirt, sign waiver, and answer additional items including emergency contact information.

Awards recognition requires 3+ competitors per division. The start list will be open for you to monitor and switch divisions as needed. Event participation is open to all man-powered water vessels; however, the Key West Paddle Classic will only podium those divisions that meet this 3+ competitor requirement.

Evelyn O'Doherty, editor & publisher of the new Standup Journal 2.0 is a former school teacher gone rogue. She left her career as a teacher in order to spend more time near or on the water after learning to surf turned her life around (upsidedown?). She is a year-round surfer and paddler living on the eastern tip of Long Island in NY who is a certified SUP instructor, seasoned SUP racer and avid longboard surfer. Evelyn was hired as Online Editor to Standup Journal in 2016. Her passion for the project quickly led to her success and eventually taking over the mag herself in Oct. 2018. Today, as editor, publisher and chief bottle washer at Standup Journal, Evelyn keeps her toes wet writing, traveling, paddling, surfing, and learning to foil. You can find her most days paddling out on Gardiner's Bay or surfing Ditch Plains in Montauk, NY.
