Grant Twiggy Baker comes to F-One and falls for their foils

In this video, hosted by F-One Sup and highlighting their newest team rider Grant ‘Twiggy’ Baker, the World Big Wave Champion in 2014 & 2016 as well as 2x Maverick’s champ in 2006 & 2013, Grant talks candidly on learning how to foil.

“Foiling is something new to do in the ocean. Now when it’s flat and there’s no wind, foiling is perfect. To have all of this equipment available to me through F-One is a real blessing. ” – GTB

Grant “Twiggy” Baker was born in 1973 and is from Dubarn, South Africa.   Soon after that Twiggy surfed his first wave.  What’s unfolded from there is a man on a mission, totally addicted to the surf which would eventually become his full-time occupation.  This ocean athlete spends his life surfing different conditions through his multiple modalities of kiteboarding, surfing, stand up paddling and – now – foiling.

F-One is excited to bring this great legend onto their team of athletes.  To learn MORE about their products, including foils, check out the website here:  http://www.f-onesup.com/

Evelyn O'Doherty, editor & publisher of the new Standup Journal 2.0 is a former school teacher gone rogue. She left her career as a teacher in order to spend more time near or on the water after learning to surf turned her life around (upsidedown?). She is a year-round surfer and paddler living on the eastern tip of Long Island in NY who is a certified SUP instructor, seasoned SUP racer and avid longboard surfer. Evelyn was hired as Online Editor to Standup Journal in 2016. Her passion for the project quickly led to her success and eventually taking over the mag herself in Oct. 2018. Today, as editor, publisher and chief bottle washer at Standup Journal, Evelyn keeps her toes wet writing, traveling, paddling, surfing, and learning to foil. You can find her most days paddling out on Gardiner's Bay or surfing Ditch Plains in Montauk, NY.
