Need to start your day over? How about a push to motivate you through Hump Day? Turn up the volume (you may want to put in headphones) and take a ride with Mo Freitas from Focus SUP Hawaii in a new video that will get your pulse rising!

Footwork, Transitions & Big Drops:  That’s Mo Freitas!

Focus SUP  team rider Mo Freitas is no ordinary charger.  Mo puts in the time, the energy and the performance into every ride he takes to really light up the surf.  One of the most talented multi disciplined water athletes on the planet today, Mo is enthralling to watch either in the surf or on the stand up paddle race course.  In this new video by Modern Productions, keep an eye on his footwork, watch his smooth transition from rail to rail and the casual way Mo drops in to monster size waves in his home break in Hawaii.

We, at Standup Journal, celebrate young athletes like this who put themselves on the line every day to maximize their performance and push the boundaries of this sport even further.

Charge ON, Mo!  It sure is fun bearing witness to the journey.

Evelyn O'Doherty, editor & publisher of the new Standup Journal 2.0 is a former school teacher gone rogue. She left her career as a teacher in order to spend more time near or on the water after learning to surf turned her life around (upsidedown?). She is a year-round surfer and paddler living on the eastern tip of Long Island in NY who is a certified SUP instructor, seasoned SUP racer and avid longboard surfer. Evelyn was hired as Online Editor to Standup Journal in 2016. Her passion for the project quickly led to her success and eventually taking over the mag herself in Oct. 2018. Today, as editor, publisher and chief bottle washer at Standup Journal, Evelyn keeps her toes wet writing, traveling, paddling, surfing, and learning to foil. You can find her most days paddling out on Gardiner's Bay or surfing Ditch Plains in Montauk, NY.
