The 6th Annual ​​​​Tommy Bahama Paddle Race & Ocean Festival at the Santa Monica Pier returns Saturday, June 6, 2015. The family-friendly event features paddleboard, SUP and dory races, an ocean swim and kids’ races. All courses start and finish on the sand immediately south of the Santa Monica Pier. The pier deck features hula dancing, beer and rum garden, live music and a board & gear expo celebrating the history of paddleboarding.

Events:

5.5 Mile WPA-Sanctioned SUP and Paddleboard Long Course & Elite Race, 2-Mile Fun Paddle, Juniors 500M Paddle Race, One-Mile Ocean Swim, Juniors 250M Swim or Lifeguard Dory Race.

Prize Purse:

Minimum prize purse of $12,000 for the SUP and Paddleboard Elite Long Course and Tommy Bahama Paddlecross.

Registration:

Entry fees range from $10-60. Register online at www.pierpaddle.com.

Schedule: Races begin at 8:00 am.

Benefits:

A portion of net proceeds goes to Heal the Bay and its public marine education facility, the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. Heal the Bay is an environmental non-profit dedicated to making Southern California coastal waters and watersheds, including the Santa Monica Bay, safe, healthy and clean.
