cape cod bay challenge august 17On August 17th approximately 60 paddlers will depart Plymouth Beach at 4:30am to begin the 6th annual Cape Cod Bay Challenge.  It will take the paddlers 10-12 hours to make the 34 mile trek across the Bay.  Their goal is to raise money and awareness for a wonderful non-profit in Boston called Christopher’s Haven (

Christopher’s Haven provides housing for families who bring their child to Massachusetts General Hospital and Dana-Farber/Children’s Hospital for cancer treatment.  Treatment can last for up to 8 weeks and the burden of finding housing for that period of time in Boston can be financially and emotionally overwhelming.  The mission of Christopher’s Haven is to make a tangible difference in the day-to-day lives of these children by creating a home away from home for them while they are in Boston for their treatment.
