Sup paddling is really catching on in British Columbia and we just started carrying them in our Western Canoeing & Kayaking shop’s line up last year.

I wanted to let you know that one of the most famous canoe routes in Western Canada was completed by sup for the very first time.

The Bowron Lake Canoe Circuit at 116 km (73 miles, including portages) was completed in six days by Laura Demers of Abbotsford BC.

Her trip wasn’t meant as a record-breaker time wise, it was more of a holiday for Laura and her boyfriend; when she decided that she would do the trek on her standup board. Her boyfriend, carried their tenting and cooking gear in his canoe. Laura had tie-down bungees on her board to carry gear as well.
