This weekend-long event is unique to the Midwest and is a sure bet for fun. Whether you’re a rec racer, a seasoned pro, or a SUP newcomer, there will be something for you!
The Festival site location at Bishops Bay Country Club (which is open to the public for this event) is located on beautiful Lake Mendota and has stunning views of the Wisconsin State Capitol building.

• A portion of net profit from the Festival will be donated to the UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital and the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison,Wisconsin.

• Manufacturers reps will be on hand from major SUP brands and industry leading designers including Ernie Brassard from Tahoe SUP, Jim Terrell from Quickblade Paddles, Danny Mongno from Werner Paddles, Dan Gavere from Starboard and more.
• 6-mile, WPA-sanctioned race at 8:30 a.m. & 2-mile recreational race at 10:00 a.m.
• Raffle of SUP gear, prizes for top race winners, goody bags for all!

PLEASE NOTE AND READ CAREFULLY: There will be no refunds given due to inclement weather. Parking at Bishops Bay Country Club is at a minimum. Please arrive early for the best parking selection. If you’re racing, you can drop off your board at the dock with one of our volunteers and then return to park your vehicle. Please observe any “Do Not Park Here” signs. Thank you for your cooperation.

RACE PACKET PICK-UP–PLEASE READ: Packets will be available for pick up on Friday, July 13 at two locations. From 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., you may come to Paddleboard Specialists, 5495 Catfish Court in Westport, WI 53597. After 6:00, IF you have purchased a Welcome Dinner ticket or are attending one of the paid Specialty Clinics (dinner included), you may receive your Race Packet at Bishops Bay Country Club as part of the Welcome Dinner reception. (Specialty Clinics begin at 5:00 p.m. at Bishops Bay Country Club; dinner is at 7:00.) If you cannot pickup your Packet at one of these times, Race Packets will be available beginning at 7:00 a.m. at the race location at Bishops Bay Country Club. Please arrive early so that we may accommodate you efficiently.

Interested in Renting a Board? Call us at Paddleboard Specialists! Board rental is available for the Open Class and rec races and for Specialty Clinics. Our number is 1-877-473-1199. We have limited quantities, but you can rent one of our displacement-hull boards for racing at $25 per board. We also have a selection of boards for your use for Friday’s Specialty Clinics for $25 per board. We have a very limited quantity of inflatable boards for Sunday’s whitewater clinic. Please inquire.

Need to Store Your Board on Friday Night? You can store your board at Paddleboard Specialists beginning on Friday, July 13 at 4:00 p.m. Bring your board to 5495 Catfish Court, Westport, WI 53597. Drop your board off between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and you can pick it up in the morning at 7 a.m. Call 1.877.473.1199 if you have any questions.

Fine Tuning Your Stroke for Maximum Performance with Jim Terrell of Quickblade Paddles–SOLD OUT!
A stellar opportunity to hone skills with SUP pro, 4-time Olympian and Mad Scientist of Quickblade paddles Jim Terrell. Get up close and personal with Jim as he details the fine tuning of stroke efficiency. Through on-land demos and then on-water observation/evaluation, you’ll get individualized feedback to improve your skills substantially. (This ticket is for Friday only. Dinner IS included with this purchase. Does not include “base ticket” for Festival.) Location: Bishops Bay Country Club

Hosted by Trey Knight of the American Canoe Association (a member-based, national nonprofit organization serving the broader paddling public). Trey is an ACA-certified Level 5 Advanced Swiftwater Rescue Instructor; Level 3 River SUP Instructor and Adaptive Paddling Instructor. When not at work Trey is most often found on a SUP in a river, ocean wave or getting in a glide on flatwater.

11:00 a.m.: Learn to SUP Clinic
Hosted by Paddleboard Specialists owners Gary Stone, his wife Debbie Garten, and their teenage kids Ali and Evan Stone. This family of paddlers has been enjoying SUP’ing together for almost 5 years and just cannot get enough time on the water. Gary and Debbie have taught over 700 new SUP’ers. They understand what it takes to be sure that everyone has a really fun and successful experience on the water!

11:00 a.m.: Beyond the Basics: Developing Paddle Dexterity with Jimmy Blakeney of BIC
In this clinic, ACA SUP instructor trainer and former U.S. National Champion whitewater kayaker Jimmy Blakeney will help you improve and refine some of themore nuanced paddle skills related to SUP. From the forward stroke to draws and bracing, this clinic will help take your paddle dexterity to new levels. (Best for novice to advanced paddlers versus first-timers.)

12:30 p.m.: Learn to SUP Clinic
Hosted by Erik Thompson of Amundson Paddleboards, Ed Gerbino from NSP and Mark Robinson from Bic Sport. Between these three reps 100’s of people have had a great time learning SUP. These guys live and breathe SUP and will take you from your first tentative strokes to comfort and ease in this lesson.

12:45p.m.: Understanding the Body Mechanics of SUP with Mona Melms of Studio Melt
Hosted by Mona Melms RN MS PT, co-owner/founding director of Melt, llc & SUP enthusiast. Dedicating five minutes to your own movement machinery before and after your day of paddling will provide you with noticeable benefits in your paddling performance. Mona will demonstrate how a SUP warm-up routine activates the nerves and muscles involved in paddling and prepares them to go to work as a well-functioning team of body parts. A post-SUP routine aims at balancing the effects of repetitive paddling movement to maximize peak performance.

1:00 p.m.: Learn to SUP Clinic

1:15 p.m.: Selecting the Perfect Paddle Clinic with Danny Mongno
Calm water, wild water…cruising or racing, the sure fire way to guarantee more fun while paddling is to use less energy. To get started on this quest, you need the proper fitting SUP paddle and need to perform your strokes more efficiently. Join Werner Paddle’s Danny Mongno as he helps you on this path. Starting with the paddle, he will assess your needs and assure your blade shapes matches your paddling style and you have the perfect fit options and length. From there let’s quickly dissect the forward stroke and see how we can get the most out of it. Attendees should walk away with confidence in their paddle selection and exercises to work on at home.

1:30 p.m.: TRX Rip Trainer with Kari Woodall of Woodall Training
TRX Rip Training utilizes a lever bar and resistance cord to provide a unique mix of core stability, mobility and coordination challenges. Perfect for anyone from fitness enthusiasts to elite athletes, the Rip Trainer enhances fluidity and range of motion and decreases the risk of injury. Join Kari Woodall—whose athletic and coaching experience include five U.S. National Swimming Team selections and eleven years as an NCAA Division I Swimming Coach—for a Rip workout that combines high-speed striking movements and slower speed strength and stability exercises. Since retiring from NCAA coaching, Kari launched Woodall Training, LLC. She focuses on athletic-based personal training in and out of the water.

2:00 p.m.: The Elite Paddle Stroke Clinic with Danny Mongno and Jim Terrell
Join a committee of some of our Elite racers as they break down the Forward Stroke and help you get more out of your fitness paddles and race results. Each racer/instructor will take a single segment of the stroke and help you understand it both mentally and physically in this interactive on land seminar. Bring an open mind and get ready to have some fun.

2:30 p.m.: SUP Yoga Clinic with Suki Warda of Harbor Athletic & Dragonfly Yoga
What’s Downward Dog like on a paddleboard? Try it with our Intro to SUP Yoga! Find out why yoga on a paddleboard is becoming so popular, and learn the benefits of challenging your core while stabilizing yourself on a SUP. Suki Warda, 200RYT, Pilates instructor and SUP lover, will lead you through a basic yet challenging series of poses while introducing breathing and balancing techniques.

2:30pm.: SUP Q&A with Jim Terrell owner of Quickblade Paddles, Danny Mongno from Werner Paddles, Gary Stone, owner of Paddleboard Specialists and Dan Gavere from Starboard Paddleboards. This 30-minute session is an open session to ask any questions you have.

Whitewater SUP Clinic with Dan Gavere at Prairie Du Sac Dam
This will be a special introductory to moving water and Class 1-3 whitewater with world-class SUP and kayaker Dan Gavere–known as one of the World’s first and most talented whitewater SUP paddlers. Dan will cover: equipment, safety, stroke techniques and concepts form whitewater SUP paddling, paddling techniques used in rivers and moving currents, stance techniques, river running techniques, stationary wave surfing techniques, basic eddy turn technique, and bracing and whitewater specific stroke techniques.
