09/10/2017 – Claytor Lake Sup Race 2017

Mountain 2 Island Paddleboard Company welcomes racers to our home lake for the 3rd annual Claytor Lake Sup Race, on Sunday afternoon September 10, 2017. The will be a 7 mile and 3mile and kid's race. During the afternoon , there will be a sup yoga program and demos from Mountain 2 Island Paddleboard Company. Cash & product prizes for top finishers.

09/16/2017 – Chucktown Showdown 2017

ONLINE REGISTRATION ENDS AT 12:00 (NOON) FRIDAY SEP 15 Welcome to the 5th Annual Chucktown Showdown! Race day will be on September 16, 2017 and the race will benefit Surfers Healing of Folly Beach, South Carolina! On Saturday, September 16th, the races start and end in water off the end of the Brittlebank Park fishing pier on the west side of the Charleston on the Ashley River. The event feature three races: The Battery Course: This course is a 4 mile out and back course along the SW coast of the Charleston peninsula. The course is usually flat and protected with occasional wind chop and mild currents. PFD REQUIRED on all craft. Leashes are highly recommended on all paddleboards.The Harbor course: This is a 9 mile loop course that goes into the main Charleston Harbor with views of USS Yorktown, Ft Sumter, Castle Pinckney and the Ravenel Bridge.  The course can be very challenging with winds, wind chop, and currents.  PFD REQUIRED on all craft. LEASHES REQUIRED on all PaddleboardsThe Fun Run: This course is offered to our younger friends, 12 years and under. It is an approximately 1-mile course that features buoy turns and takes place right in front of the dock! Want to volunteer as part of the Race Crew? 09/09/2017 – LA River Boat Race

On September 9, 2017, the Glendale Narrows will again come alive with the now Fourth LA River Boat Race. Paddlers of all kinds will enjoy our Down River, Fun Sprint and Multisport Relay races. 09/23/2017 – MBSF 2 and 6 mile SUP Race, Waterman Challenge 2017

2 Mile SUP - stock and surfboard - (1 mile out and back course).  6 Mile SUP - stock and surfboard (3 miles out to Lover's Point and back).  Waterman Challenge Individual and Relay - 0.5 mile swim, 0.5 mile SUP, followed by 0.5 mile prone paddle. Waterman Challenge Super - 1.0 mile swim, 1.0 mile SUP, followed by 1.0 mile prone paddle. Kayak Race - 2 and 6 mile out and back course.

09/16/2017 – Lighthouse to Lighthouse Race 2017

For the 17th year we are looking forward to welcoming a competitive field of racers to row or paddle the Lighthouse To Lighthouse Race along the scenic Norwalk Islands on the Connecticut shore. We will have events on both Saturday and Sunday this year. Saturday is race day, Sunday we will host a community day with breakfast and number of clinics (surfski, sea kayak, rowing) for anyone wanting expert coaching among friends. This year we have 2 races - 7 miles and 14 miles. Races start at 9:00am (note earlier time than last year for tide conditions) so be on the beach 2 hours in advance in order to comfortably, set up and receive safety briefing / orientation. There will be a four hour time limit on the race so that we can have everyone off the water by 1:00 p.m. Boats having trouble making it back by the deadline will be asked to accept a tow or have their boats picked up and returned to the beach. Boat Classifications You will be asked at time of registration to select a class and enter the name of the manufacturer and model of the boat you will be racing. Please be accurate and detailed so that we can review and confirm conformity with the selected class in advance of the race. For paddled boats (kayaks), as is customary, we will be using the Soundrowers system of classification for paddled craft, with a few exceptions: Sea Kayak, Fast Sea Kayak, Surfski, Surfski 20 Plus For rowed boats we have: - Fixed Seat Racing, Fixed Seat Touring, Sliding Seat Racing, Sliding Seat Touring, Pilot, Livery, Workboats, Whalers. For the aloha folks: - OC1, OC2, OC4 and OC6 Lastly, we welcome SUP paddlers both prone and standing: - 12'6, 14 and Unlimited Both male, female and mixed are valid, as are single and multi crewed. Vessels of any other style or design will be classified as Open unless a 3 or more similar vessels register in order to invoke an new class. Awards At the conclusion of the event awards will be presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place competitors in each boat class, gender (male, female and mixed) and crew #. Food and Entertainment Following the race, a beach party will be available for all racers and guests of the racers and volunteers. The party will feature Wayne's famous clam chowder and a raw bar as well as delicious food from the grill. We will also feature music and a range of craft beers in case you are thirsty. There is plenty of space and parking, bring the family for a great end of season event. The beach party is included in the race registration, non racing guests will be asked to make a $20 donation to eat. Guest tickets can be purchased during the registration process.

For the first time we are introducing the Sunday Fun Race to our local paddling community! These races are designed to be inclusive for everyone. Adults, kids, and families are all welcome! Paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, surfskis, and outriggers are all welcome! 09/24/2017 – Sunday Sunday Sunday Race Series #3 2017

THE SUNDAY X3 PADDLE RACE SERIES (SSSR) is a 3 part, SUP & PRONE paddle race series. Men’s, women’s & junior’s divisions, Kid’s Fun Run & Inflatable Paddle Race, provide something for paddlers of all ages and abilities. Dates include: May 21, July 23 & September 24, 2017. The events are all held in Bonita Cove on beautiful Mission Bay, San Diego California. Challenging distance and fun sprint courses include 10K, 5K and 3K. Spectators can enjoy the 1.5K Tech Course (17 & under), the Kids Fun Run (10 & under) & the Inflatable "BIG BOARD BATTLE" (a new up to 6 person team relay division for 2017) New for 2017 - The 10K race includes one class for SUP (up to 14') and one class for prone (stock only). For the first two 10K races (May 21 and July 23) the top 3 OVERALL finishers, both men and women -- SUP and prone, receive an AUTOMATIC entry into the last 10K PRO RACE (includes an open ocean element) where equal prize money (tbd) will be awarded to the men and women, for both SUP and prone paddlers! If you can't make the first two races or don't receive an automatic entry ... DON'T WORRY!! Regular entry for the September 24th 10K Pro Race will be available.
