Red Paddle Co announces both venue and dates for this year’s Dragon World Championship. This event, which is the only team stand up paddle competition of its kind on the planet, hosts national teams of all levels and abilities to battle it out on Red Paddle Co’s 22-foot Dragon Board.
New Iconic Venue for 2019 Dragon World Championship
Since the ‘DWC’ launch in 2017, Red Paddle Co’s Dragon World Championship has showcased fantastic venues in Carlisle Bay, Barbados (2017) and Lake Fushl, Austria (2018). This year, the much anticipated 3rd annual event is to be held on the pristine expanse that is Lake Annecy, France on 15th-16th, June 2019.
“The Dragon World Championships has always been about creating the most accessible, fun and fast SUP event in the world. Moving the event to June allows paddlers of any level to get involved from those considering their first board to teams who have been training all winter. We will also now be hosting three separate divisions to create more opportunity for people to create teams in either all-men, women’s or mixed categories,” says Head of Marketing at Red Paddle Co, George Shillito.
Lake Annecy, France welcomes Dragon World Championship
Lake Annecy, nestled in the South Eastern corner of France, is no stranger to stand up paddle racing. Home to the annual Alpine Lakes Tour Gla Gla race, the lake and surroundings are a perfect location for what to be the most epic Dragon World Championships yet.
Registration for the competition OPENS on the 25th March 2019. Red Paddle Co encourages paddlers of all capabilities to sign up. No prior qualification is required. From passionate beginners to seasoned stand up paddle racing professionals, the 2019 Dragon World Championship is fun for all ages.
