Get ready for the Gorge!  Changes to divisions and adding the Naish Columbia Gorge Challenge to the Paddle League’s list of qualifying events for their new World Title, makes THIS year an exciting year to charge the Gorge.  See deets below!

This year’s favorite downwind challenge will offer women the opportunity to CHOOSE the board length best suited to their needs. It’s a 14′ and Under race for everybody!

Naish Gorge Challenge gives women option of competing in a 14′ & Under class

Good news for the Gorge!  The Naish Columbia Gorge Paddle Challenge  will take place on August 18-19, 2018.

New this year, Elite women will be allowed to compete on boards up to and including 14′ range.  This new board class will apply to both the technical course and downwind races.

In addition, the Gorge Challenge has become a stop on the newly launched Paddle League’s selection of events in the race for a new World Title!  It’s a wonderful time to get on the Gorge!

Evelyn O'Doherty, editor & publisher of the new Standup Journal 2.0 is a former school teacher gone rogue. She left her career as a teacher in order to spend more time near or on the water after learning to surf turned her life around (upsidedown?). She is a year-round surfer and paddler living on the eastern tip of Long Island in NY who is a certified SUP instructor, seasoned SUP racer and avid longboard surfer. Evelyn was hired as Online Editor to Standup Journal in 2016. Her passion for the project quickly led to her success and eventually taking over the mag herself in Oct. 2018. Today, as editor, publisher and chief bottle washer at Standup Journal, Evelyn keeps her toes wet writing, traveling, paddling, surfing, and learning to foil. You can find her most days paddling out on Gardiner's Bay or surfing Ditch Plains in Montauk, NY.
