H2UP successfully organized a 2nd Annual GIANT Sup Yoga event presented by PULSE Sup at l’Anse de Vaudreuil, in Québec, Canada.

GIANT Sup Yoga:Â Inviting 50+ people to the water for a yoga practice
“It was a beautiful day to celebrate love of water, yoga and standup paddling.”
During a regular Sup Yoga class at H2UP in the summer of 2015, we saw how amazing a large group of yogis on the water practicing yoga simultaneously looked and felt. We decided right then we wanted more of that. The ideas started flowing, and we decided we could get fifty standup paddle yogis on the lake at the same time. We wanted it to become the biggest Sup Yoga event in Canada! From those crazy ideas, the H2UP GIANT Sup Yoga event was born.

GIANT Sup Yoga:Â Turning a dream into reality
“Sup Yoga is a strong manifestation of the power water has on our everyday lives.”
Our next step was to turn our dream into a reality and start organizing. The first obstacle on the list was getting our hands on fifty boards. After a promising call to our Pulse Sup rep Thomas, and with the help of Aerosport Oka, an industry leading Sup Boutique, the event quickly started to take shape and become a reality.

Let’s hear it for PULSE Sup for creating the floating Sup Yoga studio of our dreams!
Pulse Sup was instrumental to our success. Once we had the fifty Pulse boards secured, it was time to tackle the rest of our to-do list and work out all of the details an event of this magnitude requires. How would the attendees hear the leading yoga instructor within such a large group? How would the instructor be able to see everybody? How could we anchor all those boards? How to find the right sponsor? It was no small task, that’s for sure.

The 1st GIANT Sup Yoga festival was a success
“[GIANT Sup Yoga] takes the time to stop and admire the beauty of nature and our connection to it through the rhythm of our breathing.”
The inaugural GIANT Sup Yoga event held by H2UP took place on June 11th 2016.  It was a tremendous success. It’s because of that great success, that we decided to come back even bigger in 2017. This year’s event was another great success and was widely talked about!

How did we make it BIGGER for 2017?
“To practice [GIANT Sup Yoga] surrounded by people with the same passion and mindset, makes the whole experience much more magical.”
In 2017, the event was upgraded to four classes with 50 yogis on PULSEÂ boards at the same time. The paddle boards were placed facing three docks parallel to each other with one instructor on each dock. Fifty people moving and breathing together on the water as one is quite an impressive sight!

Over 200+ participants and growing strong!
In the end, 200 participants had the opportunity to take their practice on the water with Pulse standup paddle boards that day! It was a beautiful day to celebrate the love of water, paddling and yoga.
Sup Yoga is a strong manifestation of the power water has on our everyday lives. It is to take the time to stop and admire the beauty of nature and our connection to it through the rhythm of our breathing. To practice such an activity surrounded by people with the same passion and mindset makes the whole experience much more magical.
