Here at Standup Journal, we are HUGELY proud of the uber talented men & women who keep US stoked through their super high octane photography skills and their surreal video/drone imagery.

We are fortunate to house some of the BEST outdoor photographers on the planet between our pages and in our online hub.  We celebrate THEM.  And, we want to share their stories with YOU.  Here’s a peek at one of our fav’s, Jimmy Martinello, giving a slide show presentation at the Multiplicity event for Mountain Life Media back in November.  Check it out and BE inspired!

Jimmy Martinello:  Finding Balance and Reconnecting with your Surroundings

Back in November, Standup Journal photographer, Jimmy Martinello, participated in a visual story telling event, titled Multiplicity, as a part of Mountain Life Media‘s winter series.  The 2016 Multiplicity event was a multi-media extravaganza which included motivational narratives by eight unique world-class athletes, explorers and outdoor personalities.  This annual event is one of Whistler’s most inspirational evenings on record held every year during the World Ski & Snowboard Festival in British Columbia.

Jimmy’s slideshow, presented here, reveals his unrivaled photography skill in the ski, surf and paddling world.  Beyond that in his impactful narrative, Jimmy reminds us each to slow down.  For, it is by slowing down that we may get grounded and be more fully in the present moment.

“Recognized for his spiritual connection to adventure and his humble attitude, Martinello is equal parts athlete, adventurer, photographer and family man.”   – Mountain Life, Nov 2016

In this unique video shared with us by Mountain Life Media (thanks guys!), Jimmy asks us to reflect and remember the values that harness our heart’s energy and give greater meaning to each day.

“With the world of technology and global media growing ever so fast, we sometimes get lost and caught up with it all and forget what’s really important,” he says. “You have to believe in what you’re doing, get rooted and be present to move into a future with a world of passion and support for our surroundings.”   – Jimmy Martinello

In a dramatically changing universe where the environment we love to play in is at risk, Jimmy’s reminder to look inward, get grounded in our values and move forward towards what we believe is a refreshing outlook and a piece of news I welcome on my computer screen.

Aloha, Jimmy!  We thank YOU.
