Nikki Gregg Finishes Sup River Race With Concussion

Global Partner

Our hero Nikki Gregg was charging hard at last weekend (like this other racer, pictured) at the GoPro Mountain Games in Colorado when she and 2 other river racers slammed into the low bridge on the race course.

The head biff forced Nikki to drive home to Oregon afterwards with a concussion. She tells us, “I hit my head on a low bridge. For sure it cost me the podium, but I still managed to finish the course 😉

Even with my helmet on I got a concussion! The river levels had come up quite a bit from the morning preliminary heats making the bridge harder to clear and it also made the hole below the bridge meatier, so I had to catch the river eddy farther to the right to avoid going through the hole.”

REST UP, Nikki, there’s a big summer of events and fun paddling ahead! -Team Standup Journal
