Saturday 12th October: Long Distance Race to Haleiwa

The live broadcast on the 1st day of action at Turtle Bay will start at 12pm, with a pre event show hosted by Rocky Canon and Kaipo Guerrero, followed by the start for the Long distance race at 1pm from Turtle Bay. This legendary long distance course takes in the world’s most famous surf breaks, from Sunset and Pipeline, to Waimea and finishing in Ali’i Beach Park, Haleiwa, encompassing the entire 7 mile miracle. The long distance course will challenge the athletes’ complete skill set, as they navigate the downwind sections, and flat spots to make their way to the harbor wall in Haleiwa: a total of just under 13 miles.

The Long distance race will provide divisions for the World Series 12’6 class, but also 14′ and open classes, as well as a prone division, so entries are open to all for this dramatic race to close a spectacular season for the World Series.
