World Champion SUP Racer Travis Grant has confirmed his path back to form over the weekend by taking out the 12 Towers Race on the Gold Coast, Queensland.  This follows his win only 3 weeks earlier at ‘The Doctor’ in Perth, Western Australia.  The 2 races are the biggest in Australia and contested by at least 6 of the top 15 paddlers in the world.

Riding elite versions of the NSP boards designed by Dale Chapman and Alain Turquetil (DC); Travis clearly demonstrated his dominance by taking line honors in the Doctor a near perfect downwind race in the 14’class.

He then followed up by also taking line honors on a 12’6 in the 12 Towers in grueling, hot and cross wind conditions defeating paddlers on larger, faster boards in the unlimited class in the process.

“It feels like it’s all coming together; I’m almost back to form and the boards we have been refining feel amazingly fast and user friendly.  To have a great 12’6 and 14’ so soon after signing with NSP I couldn’t have asked for a better beginning” said Travis after collecting $1500 for the weekends win.

Held by the local Stand Up Paddle club ‘SUPSA’ The ‘12 Towers’ was the largest race in Australian history and with the local hotbed of talent contested by truly world class competition.

The DC designed NSP Race Boards will be released in the first half of 2013.

The 2013 NSP SUP Range including NSP Elements, E2 and Coco Mat is available in stores now.
