A Na Kama Kai Youth Clinic was held today at La Pointe des Pecheurs providing the youth of Punaauia with the opportunity to hit the water with the world’s best.
Stand Up Paddle, swimming and environmental study workshops were held led by Na Kama Kai representative Robin Johnston (Mistral) from Hawaii and Patuariitea Laux, Air Tahiti Nui’s arts and craft ambassador and active community member.
Robin and Patu were joined by a gathering of the world’s best to make this day a memorable occasion for these kids on a beautiful Sunday in Tahiti. Stay tuned to www.sapinuspro.com for video highlights of this Na Kama Kai event in Tahiti.

The Trials athletes are the next up here at the Sapinus Pro presented by Air Tahiti Nui, as both local and international athletes warm up in the playful waves on offer at Sapinus this weekend. While the forecast is ever changing, good waves are forecast for the whole week and there are rumors of a giant swell later in the week, so stay tuned to www.sapinuspro.com

In a process that only becomes harder and harder, the wildcards have been chosen, featuring amongst Tahiti’s leading lights: from Patrice Chanzy who finished 2nd in 2011 here in Tahiti, legend Vetea David (Naish), who was quarterfinals finisher in 2011 and semis in 2010, to the Tahiti’s leading youth athletes Nainoa David and Poenaiki Raihoa (Naish), the first round that will feature the Top 8 from the Trials and the 8 wildcards is destined to be an intense match up to say the least.
The other wildcards are international athletes Kainoa Hauanio (Rogue) from Hawaii, Alex Salazar from Brazil, Serge Carabasse from Tahiti and Trials winner in 2011, Dorrence David.
